Not quite correct. It will only kill a very small amount of good bacteria in the main tank/filters and a whole lot of bad bacteria - Including killing off blue green algae. It is target specific and very much dose dependent - typically 3ml per 1000L each water change will ensure a healthy tank.

I have 5 goldfish and two mystery snails and a sucker fish in the diluted methylene blue in a container with a air pump. They have definitely some kind of disease. How long do I leave them in that tank for before I transfer them back to the regular tank after disinfecting it all?

Right after I put methylene drops fish died

I put a brand new Aquael Pat mini filter in my shrimp tank last night but there is a constant noise coming from where the powerhead is. Any idea what this could be? Is it because there’s still air trapped inside?

GREAT for SPORTS TOO! I take 10 drops in cup of water with vita c to clear the water, water 3 min to clear it, then drink it, 2 doses 12 hrs apart, last dose 1 hr before sports, I can play tennis like a BULL on this stuff!!

Hi, I'm worried sick about my Black Moor who appears to have fungus infection and I can't find any answers nowhere. I hope someone can advice me. My infected fish is already in a hospital tank. Now I've added the recommended dosage of methylene blue per liter and also placed an air stone for oxygen. Now my questions are: (A) Won't my fish need beneficial bacteria anymore? (B) Can I / Should I feed my fish? (C) How often or do I even need to do water change? (D) When should I add more methylene blue? Pleaseeeee

I realized that the shaft in my fluval was snapped in half. This was after it was not pumping and creating a ton of noise. I got down to the very center and I went to hobby lobby to try to find a piece to replace it but couldn't find the exact measurement. I tried to take apart a pen blew the ink out sanitized it and fit it in there but it was just a hair too big. I don't know what to do. Any help?

Given bad advice by fish store added to my main tank ditched it as soon as I found out and cleaned the thing top to chucked an old filter on for now with pre cycled media and bb in a bottle and all that jazz how long is it going to effect my main tank even though it’s cleaned and my fish ?also is running carbon through my filter worth it to try draw out any meth blue that’s left after I tear it to pieces boil my ceramics and scrub my shit clean like seriously I love my fish more then my self at the moment like is all my shot gonna be blue for ever are my plants gonna die how can I clear it out my fishes system so it’s not transferred to the main tank once cycled again fuck my life hard

I have a ton of green spot alge in my tank. It is on the leafs of all my plants. I read that I should prune the infected leafs before they spread.... too late for all that! Going to try this. Maybe get my co2 injections going again. Still not sure if co2 is a bad idea or not right now. Still gathering information. Thank you for this post.

one of these got a hole in center of it. leaked. i put thumb on it and pressed. i found that part of body got indentation. soft body compared to lid.

Hi Is that clean tap water or water from your tank??

Does the water flow in from the top or bottom? If the bottom first why would they suggest the biological media be placed before it has been filtered through course, medium, and then fine? Or does the water enter top down in which the pads reversed and bio media last? I really like the design thanks for sharing.

I was thinking of using metholene blue in a QT also treating with cupramine for white spot saltwater Will the metholene blue kill the bacteria?
